Google keeps on developing in the sphere of virtual reality. This time developers of Chrome browser have integrated VR mode at mobile devices. Users who have the last version of popular browser (Chrome Dev) can take part in testing new feature.
Meet new feature for Chrome
New setting at Chrome makes VR-devices compatible with VR-websites in WebVR standard.
“The Chromium team is working on several features to bring the web to VR. They’ve recently added an experimental flag to enable a browser shell for VR. This allows users to browse the web while using Cardboard or Daydream-ready viewers,” informs François Beaufort, Google evangelist.
According to developers, new function will make any website an appropriate one for viewing in virtual reality – regardless of the fact, whether it was created for this aim or not.
As yet, there is no date of release of technology in mass usage. We can expect it only after release of Google Daydream, which is based on VR mode, i.e. this autumn or later.
