Well with a plethora of announcements taking place in this year’s Apple event, what we saw was the launch of flagship iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, a larger iPad (iPad Pro) and a new Apple TV. While the update to iPhone lineup with ‘S’ moniker is considered more of an incremental update to the preceding year’s flagships, Apple has once again laid more focus on the internals, keeping the look and feel more so the same(except for the new Rose Gold option). Saying of the internals, we saw a new Processor, a new improved Touch-ID, a new Camera setup and other various small tweaks making debut on the hardware front, but what caught the attention of many was the launch of some features such as the 3D touch support, Retina Flash, Picture-in-Picture, Split Screen support among many others. One such feature was the launch of a built-in GIF generator, called Live Photos, on the latest iPhone models that when turned ‘On’ within the Camera app appends 1.5 seconds of ‘animation’ to both the beginning and end of the picture.
But then, all of this comes with a restricted access to only the new iPhone models viz the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. Thus, for all those who want to get the Live Photos on any iPhone model and be a part of this amazing feature, a Cydia tweak named EnableLivePhotos has made it to the fore, reassuring to bring generic Live Photos support to older iPhone models as well. In order to proceed with the same, following is a step-by-step tutorial on how to get iPhone 6S-like Live Photos On Any iPhone. Take a look!
How To Get iPhone 6S-like Live Photos On Any iPhone
Step 1 : First and foremost, in order to access Cydia store, you would need a Jailbroken iPhone at your hands. To do the same, follow this step-by-step tutorial by clicking here.
Step 2 : Once you have successfully Jailbroken your iPhone, open up Cydia, search for EnableLivePhotos and install the same. EnableLivePhotos is currently available for free under Cydia’s BigBoss repo.
Step 3 : Respring/reboot and you would now be able to access Live Photos on any iPhone model, as that on iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.
What’s great about this tweak is the fact that not only does it allow the unsupported iPhones to be a part of this feature, it in-cooperates the Live Photos feature natively within the stock Camera app so well that you would hardly be left with any difference in the way the whole process carries out on any older iPhone model, as compared to that on iPhone 6s or 6s Plus. In order to get this Live Photos feature rolling, you simply need to open up the stock Camera app and toggle ‘On’ the Live Photos shortcut on the top to enable your iPhone’s camera to capture a second-and-a-half before and after the moment you actually click the picture and save it as a Live Photo.
In order to view these captured Live Photos, you simply need to navigate to that particular Live Photo in your stock Photos app and tap-and-hold on the photo which would then play the 3 second captured animation.
